To be honest, I’m still recovering from Posty Fest. Not because of the VIP bar behind the stage, but because of the unparalleled amount of hype Dallas brought to the inaugural hip hop festival two weekends ago.
The talent on the roster was absolutely insane. Travis Scott, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Skies, Ski Mask The Slump God and more all on one lineup. Plus, the man himself, Post Malone, who has become a living icon. From sold out shows to chart-topping albums, his own music festival was truly the next step and Dallas showed up for him.
Posty Fest was lit indeed — down to the details. A mustard yellow proved to be the color of the day, with blow up figures, stage lighting and visuals to match, and limited edition merch embracing the color scheme. Even spectators were dressed up in this shade. Guess I didn’t get the memo?
Dos Equis Pavilion provided the perfect layout for the music festival, complete with chill areas, games, and other activities for people to do with their downtime. Not that there was much, with the totally stacked lineup and all.
Still, I moseyed my way backstage only to find another world of surprises. There were tricked out stretch golf carts with mock leather seats and fuzzy walls, complete with disco balls to hitch a ride on. To top it off, you could play your favorite Xbox game on a custom Posty console, courtesy of Mixer. He thought of everything.
Back to the main stage for an epic run, I experienced Tyler, The Creator into Travis Scott into the main event, Post Malone. The production value Posty brought to his closing set was next level, as his hits were delivered with sincere excitement and gratitude. The raw, authentic Post Malone witnessed on the stage was just as quality — if not more — than what fans have experienced through his wildly popular albums and steady stream of hits. He’s the real deal.
Simply put, Post Malone knows how to throw a party. If Posty Fest happens again, don’t miss out.
