Joji just debuted at the top of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, making him the first Asian-born artist to earn a No. 1 on the list.
His new album BALLADS 1, released via 88Rising/12Tone is a shining example of lo-fi hip hop and the kind of expression that comes with the genre. Many artists have taken this path but Joji sets himself apart with a No. 1 under his belt.
Joji’s words upon hearing the Billboard accomplishment: “I was eating a thin slice of cheese when I received this news. I smiled and swallowed the cheese. A big thank you to the fans who constantly support. Take care of the environment.”
He also shared: “CAME A LONG WAY BABY. 3X CARDBOARD. 7X STYROFOAM WE LIT. THANK YOU FOR THE CONSTANT SUPPORT I LOVE U GUYS.”
