Though many EDM fans might not be aware of it, Tom Morello’s The Atlas Underground is one of our most anticipated albums of 2018 for the sheer amount of collaborations on it, as well as Morello’s own prowess. To give you an idea, collaborators on the project include Big Boi, Killer Mike, RZA, Steve Aoki, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Herobust, Knife Party, Whethan, Vic Mensa, Gary Clark Jr., Portugal. The Man, K. Flay and more.
With the album out next Friday, the final single has just been released, “Every Step That I Take” with Portugal. The Man and Whethan. It’s hard to comprehend this interesting combination of acts on one track, but thanks to Morello, it works brilliantly. Vocals from John Baldwin Gourley, production from Whethan, additional writing, composing, and arrangement from everyone involved plus Morello’s iconic guitar riffs make for a wildly exciting and innovative track that sounds better with each listen.
“’Every Step That I Take’ deals with the haunting voices of fear and love on the steps of the emotional gallows. We are honored to be partnering with SAVE, a suicide prevention organization, with this track. You are not alone and there is always help available,” said Morello on the importance of the track.
Already-released singles include “Rabbit’s Revenge” with Bassnectar, Big Boi and Killer Mike as well as “Battle Sirens” with Knife Party. The record is available for pre-order now HERE.
