First debuted at Deadrocks in Colorado this past July, the new collaboration between Zeds Dead and Snails featuring Akylla, “Magnets,” is out now. The stadium-like production is fit for the type of headlining sets that Zeds Dead is playing these days, and the added filth from Snails is a very welcome addition.
But for us, it’s really the vocals from Akylla that truly make this song special. The emphatic and powerful vocals are what give the track some true identity and weight beyond just the wubs and wobbles. They’re the backbone of the entire track.
That being said, the production from Zeds Dead and Snails is of course still one of the most important aspects, bringing that huge sound to the main stage such that you can just imagine the pyro cannons going off.
Listen to “Magnets” below, out now via Deadbeats, and grab the track here.
The new track comes right in the middle of Zeds Dead’s 2nd Annual Deadbeats North American and European tour, which kicked off on June 9th in Salt Lake City and will consist of 19 shows across the continents before concluding in Seattle on November 30th. Shows across the tour are set to include Rusko, Borgore, GG Magree, 1788-L, G Jones, DNMO, Zeds Dead themselves, and many more. Like last year’s iteration, each tour date features a different lineup unique to each city with 5-7 different artists, in addition to interactive fan elements like the Deadbeats Arcade which features free old games, food trucks, graffiti installations, and merchandise pop-ups.
On a similar note, Snails is set embark on the Shell 2.0 Tour this fall across North America. Featuring revamped production and stage designs from last years tour, the Shell 2.0 tour consists of over 50 shows starting October 5th at Red Rocks and wrapping up on December 15th in San Marcos, TX.
