Kingdom Hearts 3 Opening Theme Written By Utada Hikaru & Skrillex

The wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 is nearly over as the third installment in the massively popular series (though technically the 12th game) is set for release on  January 25, 2019. However, a new revelation brings the game into the realm of dance music and we’re wildly excited about it.

According to ASCAP, the opening theme for the game is being written by “Simple & Clean” star Utada Hikaru, as well as Skrillex and Poo Bear.

Skrillex shared an image of Kingdom Hearts on his Instagram back in 2016, at least denoting he’s a fan of the series. (But then again, who isn’t?)

The opening theme, otherwise entitled “Face My Fears,” will no doubt be one of the highlights of the game aside from the actual gameplay. “Simple & Clean” has become a staple in video game and anime history – will this new song be able to do the same?

  1. There are always two songs: the opening theme, which always has edm themes, and the ending theme, which is a mellowed down symphonic song. Most of the community is agreeing that “Don’t Think Twice” is the ending theme, while “Face Your Fears” is the opening.
