Hip hop is thriving right now, but the genre has been missing an essential contributor — Lil Wayne. Thankfully, his long-awaited album Tha Carter V is almost upon us.
Young Money just teased the cover art featuring a blood red hand with writing that suggests he’s about to turn the world upside down. Or, if you’re more keen on Lil Wayne lyrics — pick the world up and drop it on your fuckin’ head!
The followup was originally expected out in 2014, but never saw the light of day due to Young Money Cash Money disagreements. Now that Lil Wayne has parted ways with Cash Money and obtained sole ownership of Young Money, he can do it his way. 
It’s hard to believe Tha Carter IV dropped back in 2011. The hip hop world has definitely changed since then, and for better or for worse one thing is for sure — we could use some Weezy F Baby in our lives.
The wait is over. Tha Carter V is officially due out September 21st.
