Yesterday was World Suicide Prevention Day. With the amount of lives lost just in the celebrity world this year to depression, drugs, anxiety, and more, awareness and transparency have become more important than ever in the struggle to make asking for help okay.

In the interest of the day, DJ/producer Kygo chose to donate $30,000 to To Write Love On Her Arms, an American non-profit organization which aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury and thoughts of suicide while also investing directly into treatment and recovery..

“In honor of World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), I’m proud to join the ‘Tomorrow Needs You’ campaign by @twloha. This year has been a tough year in the music industry, and I think it’s time mental health is taken seriously. I’ve decided to donate $30,000 to TWLOHA’s campaign. If you want to help as well, go to the link in my bio to donate. 100% of your donation will go toward connecting people to the help they need and deserve! Thank you @twloha for the work you’re doing.”

While Kygo is not the only one working toward this cause, his donation and contributions are greatly appreciated.
