Avicii’s 29th Birthday Would Have Been Today – Rest In Peace

Today would have been Avicii‘s 29th birthday.

In just a short time, the producer’s music touched the lives of millions. From his launch to superstardom in 2013 through the peak of his career and into his final years, he continuously made an impact on dance music — one that will last forever. Hits like “Levels,” “Hey Brother,” and “Wake Me Up” will never go out of style, though they might sound more bittersweet than ever before.

After seeing Avicii: True Stories late last year, we were finally let in on what was happening when the lights shut off and the cameras kept rolling. The truth was the man behind the music, Tim Bergling, had fallen victim to his fame. The documentary shared his struggles with the spotlight, health problems faced on the road, and his difficult choice to stop touring altogether. Still, no one realized how deeply Avicii was affected by the years of stress he endured.

On April 20, 2018, no one was prepared to hear the devastating news. We had lost a legend and dance music would never be the same. This year has been a tough one, coping with the reality and learning how to keep moving forward without one of the true pioneers of EDM.

Take a moment today to reflect on Avicii and his everlasting influence on the music we love so much. Also, if you feel so inclined, share your memories and testimonials here.

Happy birthday, Avicii, and rest easy. You are missed beyond words.

Happy Birthday Avicii
