Congrats to Marshmello and Anne-Marie, who just went platinum for their collaborative smash “Friends.”
They’ve spelled it out for us over and over again, “F-R-I-E-N-D-S.” So many times, in fact, that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is officially recognizing the track with 1 million equivalent units earned. In today’s online world, that usually means loads of streams.
As if the song wasn’t already adorable enough, Anne-Marie gave the cutest quote to go with the certification announcement: “I love Marshmello. Working with him was so much fun and I can’t wait to work with him again. Talented, humble, lovely human… I mean, Marshmello.”
We’re sure if Mello could speak, those feelings would be mutual.
The producer also hit platinum status with his breakout single “Alone” in late 2017.
