The crunchy midtempo music train is going full throttle ahead, and every producer is out there trying their hand at the style. Some come from bass realms, some not, but the end result is always a dark and foreboding theme with powerfully textured synths and thunderous bass.
LUUDE’s new song “Omen” takes this sound and also combines it with the sort of dystopian, cyberpunk themes introduced by artists like Gesaffelstein and Kavinsky years ago. The bouncy rhythm is more than indicative of that era, while the dark build and crunchy synths bring in the new.
As with many songs producers end up releasing, LUUDE says he’s been sitting on this one since early 2017 but received a burst of inspiration during a recent trip to Los Angeles, where he finished it up.
