The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards go down tonight and here’s everything you need to know leading up to showtime.
Rapper Cardi B leads the pack with a total of 10 nominations, which is no shocker considering her swift rise to the hip hop throne this year. She’s followed by some more straight up music royalty, The Carters — aka Queen B, Beyoncé and her king, Jay-Z with eight total nominations. They’re followed by Childish Gambino with seven.
Other artists vying for the top honor, Video of the Year, include Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello and Drake. Noticeably absent from all major categories is Taylor Swift.
But the MTV VMA that most concerns us is definitely Best Dance. Avicii, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Marshmello and Zedd will all battle it out tonight. Our hearts are telling us that the late legend may take this one out of pure respect — but it’s really anyone’s game!
The 2018 VMAs will air on MTV at 9 pm EST/ 6 pm PST tonight in the US. The pre-show begins at 8 pm EST / 5 pm PST. UK audiences will have to wait until tomorrow, when the awards show is broadcast at 8 pm on MTV UK.
