Dance music fans are always down for a party, but Mother Nature doesn’t always agree. With Down to Earth Music Festival in Garrattsville, New York just around the corner, organizers have unsuspectedly been forced to cancel due to severe weather and dangerous flooding in the area.

In an official statement, Down to Earth describes the existing conditions that have ultimately led to the event’s cancellation:

We’re extremely upset to report that due to severe developing weather conditions, we will be canceling this year’s event… This decision is not made lightly, but the safety of our artists, patrons and staff must come first.

Over in Garrattsville, NY it’s been raining every day since Friday. With a large second storm approaching, thunderstorms are expected to continue all week, well into Saturday morning. Saturday and Sunday are also predicting small chance of rain.

Although this is completely out of our control, we’d like to extend our deepest apologies. Unfortunately it’s the nature of large outdoor events to be susceptible to rare Acts of God.

So that’s the bad news. The good news is, Down to Earth is working to bring in a couple of indoor makeup events with artists on the 2018 roster so fans don’t have to miss out completely. With Ganja White Night, Emancipator Ensemble, and a Pendulum DJ set, plus Manic Focus, Sumthin Sumthin, Yheti and more on the lineup, there are plenty of bass heavy options.

All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. See full statement plus weather conditions below.
