It’s always fascinating when you get the opportunity to see a professional behind the scenes, and that’s no different for DJs. DJs are among the most-traveled professionals in the world, sometimes traveling to multiple continents a week at the highest levels like Steve Aoki or Tiësto. However, you don’t even need to be at that level to travel the world, as Illenium proves in the first episode of his new series, “Ignite.”
Following the release of his newest single “Take You Down,” Illenium offers fans a deeper insight into the life of a touring DJ – from the airport, to the hotel, to the festival, back to the hotel, to the afterparty, to the meet & greet, to the top of a skyscraper for a photo opp, and then back on another 12 hour flight.
The lift of a DJ seems wildly glamorous on Instagram and when they’re up on stage in front of tens of thousands of people, but we’re learning more and more that the life of a touring musician comes with its own set of challenges.
