Pricing & Specs Emerge On Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone

Details on what’s being called “Samsung’s most innovative phone since the first Note” have leaked and it seems the device has potential to be the most interesting smartphone release of the year.

The Galaxy X, otherwise known as the Galaxy F, would be the world’s very first foldable phone. We’re not totally sure the practicality of this flexible feature — but, it’s 2018 and all and that’s just where our heads are at.

There has been much hype about this type of phone for years. However, a new leak reveals important specs and details. Such as, the new smartphone will rock a 7.3-inch seamless display and when folded, it’s expected to be no thicker than an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus. Impressive.

Nikkei Asia Review specifically reveals, “under the durability test, it could be folded for 20,000 times and its price is likely between $1,500 and $2,000.” That’s about 10 cents per fold.

After much anticipation and speculation, sources close to the company say we can finally expect the latest Galaxy device to launch in the first half of 2019.

This innovative smartphone venture gets even more intriguing, as China’s Huawei Technologies and BOE are racing to put out their own foldable device out before Samsung has the chance. See below.

We can’t wait to see how this unfolds.
