As far as legendary tracks in dance music, it’s often a crap shoot as to which ones receive that status. But as soon as RL Grime put out “Core,” its fate was already cemented.
Arguably RL Grime’s greatest track, “Core” has lived on in sets perpetually over the last four years in both its original form and in a multitude of remixes, too many to count. “Core” is most well known for its easily identifiable horn section and “who do this shit that I do?” vocal sample, but most fans can recognize it coming in just by the drums.
With this track turning four years old just a couple weeks before his next album NOVA comes out, and only recently after the song called his next “Core,” “Pressure,” was released, the timing almost seems too perfect.
