Not putting Fytch on our 2018 Artists To Watch list was a terrible missed opportunity, because he’s already going to blow up by the end of this year. Through his debut release on Deadbeats to his recent LA debut show supporting newcomer 1788-L, Fytch continues to stun us.
Now a little more than halfway through the year, he has solo released his new song “Promise.” And as with all of Fytch’s music, it comes with unbelievably smooth vocals (his own) and brilliantly unique synth work.
All in all, “Promise” still follows the usual Fytch formula. But that’s like saying, “Yeah, a carrot cake and a red velvet cake are the same thing.” Sure, they both use egg, flour, and sugar, but what makes them what they are is vastly different.
