Manila Killa Opens Up On Why He’s Leaving Hotel Garuda

If you don't know what Moving Castle is, this is your official warning. The artist showcase has picked up a considerable amount of momentum in the last few months, with Hotel Garuda's Manila Killa leading the charge. As a duo, they've conquered a major remix from Lana Del Rey under their belt, as well as a NYE show with Duke Dumont. It's their hunger to change the status quo of both music and electronic dance culture that will give them a major advantage in 2015.

Three weeks ago, Hotel Garuda announced the end of the project as a duo. Though not explicitly stated, it was assumed that Manila Killa would be continuing his solo project leaving Aseem, aka Candleweather, to take over Hotel Garuda.

A new statement from Manila Killa today confirms that assumption, as well as goes into detail the reasoning behind the split. At the end of the day, it was too much to juggle two projects that were both gaining steam, and it was best to end it with the duo and continue on as a solo artist.

Chris, aka Manila Killa, acknowledges Aseem’s dedication and contribution to the project, recalling that Aseem would take on touring duties during the first year of the project as Chris finished school.

But now, it’s time to look to the future, and this is it. Hotel Garuda isn’t over, and neither is Manila Killa, but it’s a new dawn for them both.
