Autograf’s Jake Releases Statement Explaining Where He’s Been The Last 5 Months

Mental health in music and arts has always been a delicate issue, but it’s rarely been as widely or as openly talked about as in the past year. The tragic loss of so many artists recently to suicide has opened a world of eyes to the importance of mental health, which is why it’s so endearing to see this message from Jake of the group Autograf.

For fans who have been paying attention, they might have noticed that Mikul and Louis have been touring without Jake for the past five months on their headlining tour. Jake explains that the reason for this was a severe mental break at the end of 2017.

“I didn’t think I would tour again- I felt a shadow of my former self,” he wrote on Instagram. “But being home and surrounded by my friends and family for 5 months, and taking care of myself and seeking out help has done me a world of good.”

Mental health is something that should be taken care of as much as physical or emotional health, and we’re glad that Jake recognized the signs of a break and took some time off for himself to find his center again.
