It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last… Diplo has found himself in some hot water for a tweet referencing the Thai soccer team which were trapped in a cave for nine days before being found this past Monday. However, the group of 12 boys, aged 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old coach, are still trapped until rescue workers can find out how to safely retrieve them amidst torrential monsoon waters, which could take weeks.
In light of all this, Diplo still found it appropriate to post the below tweet with Post Malone, smoking a joint, captioned: “me and @PostMalone lookin for that thai soccer team.”

The internet quickly dragged him for the tweet, calling it too soon and wildly inappropriate.
yeah they have been found but it could take 3weeks to 4 for them to actually be rescued. The rainy season has caused the cave to flood which is prolonging the rescue efforts…so yeah this tweet wasn’t appropriate..

The tweet currently has 186 direct replies at time of publishing, the vast majority of which are negative. There are a select few coming to Diplo’s defense, however most believe that it was not the place and certainly not the time to be making such a joke.
