The very first Zedd In The Park went down last night in Los Angeles, and by all accounts, it was an event to remember. Opening up the festivities were Brownies & Lemonade All Stars, Oliver Tree, Medasin, and Whethan, but it was of course Zedd who everyone was waiting to see.
The prodigious DJ/producer played out a bunch of his biggest hits and played pretty close to the vest with his set, never veering too far off the path he’d forged years prior. Though at one point during the set, he played out almost the entirety of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” before dropping it into a heavier electronic number before the big breakdown.
It was after that that Zedd announced he had a friend with him: Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers, who was there to sing “Closer.”
It was definitely a more “WTF” moment of the night, considering the two artists have never worked together. Regardless, it was a cool moment that the crowd seemed to appreciate. Zedd followed that up with the drum & bass remix of “Closer” by Dirtyphonics.
