Ed Sheeran is likely to be found at the top of any chart, and Shazam is no exception. The identifier app allows music fans to target artist names and song titles, and ultimately helps with music discovery.
Midway through 2018, the pop star is being recognized with the most Shazamed song of the year (so far). It seems “Perfect,” off Sheeran’s third studio album ÷ (divide), has perked up the most ears this year. Which, is interesting considering his album came out last year and still has this much momentum.
Sheeran also reigns at the top as the most Shzamed artist overall. J. Balvin, Drake, Dua Lipa, and Kendrick Lamar follow behind to round out the top 5. As far as songs go, Nicky Jam & J. Balvin’s “X” and Jax Jones‘ “Breathe” featuring Ina Wroldsen, come in at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots on the Shazam chart respectively. 
There’s a bit of EDM presence on the current Shazam charts. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa score the longest consecutive run at No. 1 in 2018 so far. Meanwhile, Marshmello & Anne-Marie find themselves at No. 5 for the year so far with their track “Friends.” Rudimental come in at No. 6 with their mega-collab “These Days.”
