Say what you will about the Ultra Music Festival main stage or the EDC Vegas fireworks display, nothing beats the Defqon.1 closing ceremony. [See 2016’s here.] The stage, the fireworks, the music, the lasers… while the crowd at EDC is spread around during fireworks at any time, pretty much the entire festival is at the main stage of Defqon.1 to watch the ceremony and it’s a community experience like no other.
It doesn’t really matter if you don’t like hard style (I don’t), but you can’t help but sit in awe of the production displayed here. Not to mention how the camera captures the awe-struck faces of the attendees in the crowd, the intense displays of emotion, the tears and smiles… it’s something once in a lifetime.
