The new Gorillaz album releases a week from today, but we’ve got another new single to tide us over. This time, Gorillaz teams up with two previous collaborators: Snoop Dogg and house music legend Jamie Principle.
“Hollywood” marks the fifth single from the upcoming album The Now Now. Snoop Dogg, who featured on Gorillaz’ “Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach,” makes his anticipated return. Plus, Gorillaz once again link up with Jamie Principle, who featured on their track “Sex Murder Party.” Principle also famously sung on Frankie Knuckles classic track “Your Love.”
This single is a darker yet funky foray into the Gorillaz sound. It follows the previously released singles well, and shows that the album may have a more subdued, electronic sound. A video also accompanies “Hollywood,” another visualizer much like those released for previous singles.
