XXXTentacion was shot dead yesterday (June 18) and the music industry is flustered.
There has been an outpouring of comments on social media following the rapper’s unexpected passing, and the reactions vary drastically. Almost everything about XXX was controversial, but artists who knew him the most said he was trying to change himself for the better.
Diplo is one of the key artists who weighed in on the death of XXXTentacion, describing the 20-year-old as a “genius” and “true artist.” According to the producer, XXX had the biggest imagination — and he was even hoping to get Diplo and Skrillex to finish his next album. 
“I love this kid,” Diplo said. “He was gonna do so much more he promised me.”
