In this tumultuous musical climate, you have to come up with fresh ideas to stay relevant, successful, and creative in a saturated market. While covers aren’t necessarily the most profitable or creative, they can be executed in a way that sets them apart.
Cure8 Records is a new label which is releasing nothing but compilations of known artists covering known hits. The first compilation, out today, features Krewella’s version of Bazzi’s big hit “Mine,” and the Adventure Club version of Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still.”
Also included is Parachute’s remix of Zedd, Grey, and Maren Morris’s hit “The Middle,” and CeeLo Green covering Toto’s “Africa,” which feels like we’ve reached peak meme but we’re totally okay with it.
