Marshmello just hit us with a triple-threat collab between Vic Mensa, G-Eazy, and himself — but if you didn’t have the preface for this listen you probably wouldn’t know that it’s him on the beat!
Mellogang hoping for that signature future bass sound won’t find so much as a trace of it on “Reverse.” The track rocks a straight up hip hop vibe, clearly made with Vic Mensa and G-Eazy in mind. This one is all about the bars, as Mello completely tones down his sound — even more so than with the music he wrote for Lil Peep’s “Spotlight.”
We’re really into “Reverse,” but can’t call it EDM by any means. What we can do is appreciate Marshmello as the multifaceted artist that he is. Mello has proven time and time again that he’s able to produce any genre he so desires and this is a perfect example.
