What’s it like being Tiësto?

ABC News got an all access pass to experience a day in the life of the celebrity DJ/producer. His fast-paced lifestyle, huge festival appearances, big name collaborations, and larger than life sound are all what make Tiësto a true Godfather of dance music — and there’s no stopping him.

The snapshot below covers a lot of ground in a short time, with Las Vegas being just one of the many focal points. He describes a city with different levels of wild, as Las Vegas tends to be. Sometimes the crowd gets “wild” and sometimes they get “really wild.” From the large crowds at EDC to the more intimate residency shows, Tiësto considers Las Vegas a huge part of him.

The dance legend also talks discovering Martin Garrix and superstar collaborations with Gucci Mane and Post Malone. But most notably he discusses the direction of his own sound, which he considers to be “underground” more than commercial. That’s a term he leaves reserved for the Beyoncés of the world.

This is one of only a few major interviews done by mainstream media on DJs. The other notable one, of course, was Skrillex’s interview with Katie Couric.

Watch below as Tijs gets real about what it’s like being Tiësto!
