Rita Ora is, understandingly, having hard time with the passing of Avicii — and having an especially difficult time performing their hit song together, “Lonely Together.”
The singer performed the song at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swansea. It was apparent when she jumped on the mic to express her emotions, exactly how heavy his death was weighing on her heart in that moment.
“It’s always hard for me to sing that so that you for singing along,” she said. “I wish I could stay but I have to go straight off after this.”
Upon his passing, Rita Ora shared on social media: “I have no words. I remember how amazing it was to make Lonely Together and it felt like just yesterday we were talking.”
She held a minute of silence and went on to completely crush her first performance of the single after his passing, back when she played 538Koningsdag. Although it’s not getting any easier, she sounds amazing every time. Watch that touching moment here.
