How many hats can Diplo wear at once? He’s the head of his own label Mad Decent, he’s releasing music under his own name, in a trio with Labrinth and Sia called LSD, in a duo with Mark Ronson called Silk City, and of course his trio with Walshy Fire and Jillionaire called Major Lazer. Oh, and lest we forget he just produced the 2018 FIFA World Cup anthem with Will Smith.
The latter ground is ostensibly his most successful project, having released “Lean On” in 2015; and even with all of the other projects Diplo has his hands in, he’s still releasing music with all of them.
Major Lazer just dropped a new remix for Jus Now & Dismantle’s “Fire (Spotie)” that, as per usual, is sure to get the floor poppin’. The original samples OutKast’s “SpottieOttieDopaliscious,” and is already a pretty hype song on its own. But once Major Lazer gets their hands on it, the tempo is pumped up and the drop gets a jungle terror-esque quality that perfectly represents the trio’s aesthetic.
