Last week, Jauz released his surprisingly fun remix for Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa‘s new song “One Kiss.” Now, ZHU enters the fray with a house-y remix.
It’s not a ZHU track without pitched down vocals, and this remix has them in full effect. Dua Lipa’s vocals are near unrecognizable in this remix, but they work well with the house mood. ZHU blurs the lines between house, future house and techno on this remix, adding parts of each to make a genre-defying stew. The percussion is pure house, the melody closer to future house and the synths just a few shades from techno. Normally all those different styles would bog down a track, but ZHU handles them all with grace.
ZHU just recently released his new EP Ringos Desert Pt. 1 last month, so it’s a bit surprising to see him already remixing a new track. But, it’s a welcome surprise as we await the inevitable follow-up to his new EP.
