All too often in dance music, fans will view vocalists as just these extra instruments that are sometimes featured on tracks. However, it is more often the case that vocalists have their own solo careers with their own productions and releases; such is the case with Anna Yvette, who just released her exciting new track “Rainbow Dream.”
As Yvette explains in the SoundCloud description, she has a condition called synesthesia, in which you might “hear” colors or “see” sounds. She says, “I wanted to create a song that looks like a Rainbow and feels like a Rainbow and was filled with all the fun summery good times of growing up in Long Island, New York.”
Yvette’s sweet, smooth voice is a perfect accompaniment to the bright sounds of the song, accurately representing the many colors of a rainbow. It’s filled with hope and positivity, with nary a minor chord or unpleasant note throughout the song. Close your eyes and you can imagine kids running through the park, families out at Disneyland, or any myriad of other fun-filled, innocent activities.
