Kygo‘s Coachella set made the headlines when he brought out Ariana Grande to perform her new single “No Tears Left To Cry” during his main stage debut at the festival. Curious how that collaboration happened? A new video interview reveals the details… plus teases one of his dream collaborations.
Billboard interviewed Kygo during this year’s edition of the Billboard Music Awards and found out more about how he and Grande linked up. He revealed that both of their managers had been talking about a collaboration for a while. Then, the stars aligned: Grande released her new single “No Tears Left to Cry” the day before his set at Coachella weekend two. Grande premiered the track live during his set the following night, and the rest is history.
Kygo also talked about his dream to collaborate with Ed Sheeran. He revealed that while he and Sheeran talked about getting together in the studio, the two haven’t teamed up yet. He said Sheeran is very busy and hard to contact, so it’ll all come down to timing. Maybe for Kygo’s next album?
