Seeing Virus Syndicate’s name on a clubby record with Funky Craig is sure to raise a few eyebrows, but the second JSD and Nika D start spitting bars, all doubts fly out the window.
“DTF” is an unapologetic club track focused on, well… being down to f*ck. There’s no shame in it, we’re living in 2018. Sometimes you just need to go to a club and get laid. This track is an anthem, an ode to those free spirits who don’t let society’s expectations of them prevent them from scratching an itch that needs to be scratched.
Utilizing elements of classic house and new-style bass house, coupled with Virus Syndicate’s unique brand of UK grime and hip hop, “DTF” avoids the typical American hip hop cliche of “getting f*cked” tracks and actually retains its character.
