Pegboard Nerds and Knife Party are definitely two of the most advanced production duos in dance music today. With over 100 years combined experience between them, we would expect a collaboration between the four members to sound nothing short of amazing. In fact, it’s a surprise that they haven’t worked together before now (unless you count the unreleased Pegboard Nerds remix of “Kraken”).
However, they’re finally putting their talents to use on a project together as confirmed yesterday by Rob Swire on Twitter, “O shit, @knifepartyinc + @PegboardNerds collab.” While this on its own would be newsworthy, Swire continued on Twitter, hinting that the track would be house rather than dubstep.
“They reminded me that house music is better when you use cool synths,” he wrote, “and I taught them that dubstep just leads to ass-eating competitions.”
Both groups have dabbled in house before, generally in the more electro categories, so we’re very excited to see what they have in store. No word yet on a release date, but we’re hopeful it’s soon!
