Mahalo is a breakout star of 2017, and there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing his name more frequently with support from major DJs like Tiësto, Sam Feldt and Hardwell. But today, we’re here to feature a remix to his most recent single, “Here With Me,” by Jack Trades.
The original is characterized by a litany of smooth chords and elegant vocals from Kadiri James, coupled with an emotive and centered drop that oozes sex appeal via deep house vibes. In contrast, Jack Trades takes the track and pumps up the energy a bit more with sharp piano notes and staccato synth stabs that break up the melody and give it a bouncier feel.
It’s close enough to the original that you can hear perfectly where the inspiration comes from, but different enough that fans can easily have a favorite version of the track if they like one over the other.
