Tiësto: Swedish House Mafia Reunion Inspired Avicii To Get Back Into DJing

avicii avicii

Much has been learned about Avicii‘s state of mind leading up to the time of his passing. The general consensus is that he was healthy, happy and ready to get back into it — he even had the right mindset to think about touring again.

Tiësto, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, and Laidback Luke all called into SiriusXM during the BPM channel’s live tribute for the late producer. During which, Tiësto said Avicii was in such good spirits. He had said point blank, touring was a real possibility.

“I’m not ready yet, but in the future I might go back on tour.” On the verge of putting out another album, that’s where Avicii was at.

Tiësto said he was also considering attending Ultra Music Festival for the 20th anniversary.

“He almost came to Ultra to see Swedish House Mafia perform there,” Tiësto explained. “He texted me: ‘I might come.'”

“I think when they got back together on stage, that was an inspiration for him as well to go back to DJing.”

It’s sad to think Avicii’s best years were ahead of him, but we’re happy to know he was in a good place. Learn more about the current state of his unreleased music here.
