Is there a bigger gamer in EDM than deadmau5? From playing games like Minecraft, Rocket League and PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS to playing gigs at gaming conventions, deadmau5 breathes gaming. So, it comes as no surprise that he’s working on his very own first-person shooter video game.
mad early "alpha alpha" testing… but making great progress with the team. For now, consider it a pet project… give us a year at least. https://t.co/z63JrAC6UQ

Deadmau5 streamed himself playing a prototype of his new FPS on his Twitch channel this past weekend. Deadmau5 stated the game was in “alpha alpha” stage and wouldn’t come out for at least a year. After a Reddit user posted a clip from his Twitch stream on the LivestreamFail subreddit, deadmau5 himself posted a follow-up comment:
“we’re in the prototyping phase…. some quick answers to you fellas: Yes these are assets, im aware. This prototype was slapped together in a matter of two days. Also have a team of talented dev’s who REALLY know their shit with UE, this isnt a solo project. This is MAD early, i just thought i’d share our progress this far…
at present, we’re just setting up some basic mechanics, getting a space together where we can jam out in an arena of sorts and spitball ideas… once we’ve agreed on that and nailed in network code and sever delegation, we head down the “fun and original secondary objective” route. once that all gets dialed in, we head into art department and clean her up and carry on improving the funcitonality and playability.
its a long and ardous process… but im passionate about it, and looking forward to sharing more with you!”
The game is being developed in the Unreal Engine, the engine from Epic Games that powers Gears of War, Fortnite, Bioshock and more. We can’t wait to see how the game turn outs.
