YDG has been holding it down for a minute, and now he’s holding still with Aviella Winder. His new single, “Hold Still,” out now on Thrive Music, is a bombastic display of synths and bass, creating a frenzied atmosphere that lures you in with Winder’s tempting vocals and then bringing you slamming down to Earth.
The most characteristic element of the track is undoubtedly the wild rhythm, punctuating the typical kick-snare of dubstep with synth stabs and off-beat percussion. In a track of standard sounds, they’re arranged in a completely new way and give YDG that edge. When this gets dropped, you’re going to know who made it.
