Disclaimer: we all love a good joke on April Fool’s day, which is all this is! At the time of publishing this article, Swedish House Mafia has not confirmed any new music or tour dates.
One week after their reunion at Ultra Music Festival, Swedish House Mafia have finally confirmed that an arena tour is planned for the late summer, along with a two-part EP that will culminate in a full album in early 2019.
The news was revealed via press release sent out this morning, confirming that the trio had played out two new songs at Ultra and they would be included in the first EP. As for the tour, the group is beginning in Europe at Wembley Stadium and will end up once again playing Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Sebastian Ingrosso said of the news, “We’re so honored that our fans have kept their passion after all these years. We’ve felt the desire for a reunion tour and knew that it was time.”
The one wrench in the plan could have been Steve Angello, who departed from the trio not under the best of terms with Ingrosso and Axwell. However, he says, “the past is the past and we’re looking toward the future. We have so many amazing things lined up, I can’t wait.”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 2, at 10am PT.
