While many people have been focused on Ultra this weekend, the Winter Music Conference and International Dance Music Awards have been going on under everyone’s noses. The awards aren’t particularly important to the average fan, but for many artists, festivals, labels, and clubs, the awards represent concrete validation of their work over the past year.
Categories in the awards include Best Male and Female Artists (separated by mainstream and underground, rightly so), Best Song, Best Album, Best Label, etc.
Armin van Buuren swept a number of categories thanks to A State Of Trance and Armada; directly or by association, Armin won awards in Best Male Artist (Mainstream), Best Music Event (A State Of Trance), Best Label (Global) (Armada), and Best Podcast/Radio Show (A State Of Trance).
Kygo won for Best Live Performance, Axwell Λ Ingrosso won for Best Song with “More Than You Know,” Spotify won for Best Streaming Service (no surprise there), The Chainsmokers won for Best Album with their debut Memories… Do Not Open, Ultra won for Best Music Festival, and more.
You can see all the winners below! Ultra Music Festival begins in two days!
Since it began, the International Dance Music Awards has aimed to honor and recognize the exceptional achievements from across the industry. We asked you to cast your votes & you delivered!
