Swedish producer Azide finds himself in good company on his latest release enlisting XI and J Swey on their collaborative single “I Am Not Painless.” Last week, Azide broke ground with the anthemic Trap City & Spinnin Records co-release “Die For Trap,” a cut off Skan’s EP. Now with “I Am Not Painless,” Azide returns to his bread and butter sound with stand out features from rappers XI and J Swey.
This marks the debut release from rapper XI, but the electronic community is already well acquainted with the vocalist behind the alias. Singer/songwriter Brandon Marx previously released music under the alias Openwater, initially getting his start as a mainstay artist on Monstercat. Now as XI, he’s turning his attention to hip hop, channeling a dark new sound that we’re excited to hear more of in the near future. Fellow rapper J Swey, who’s previously collaborated with Azide many times over, packs a punch with distorted vocals over the biting 808’s.
Check out Azide, J Swey, and XI’s heavy hitter “I Am Not Painless” out now on Spotify.
