An arrest has been made following the hospitalization of six young teenagers, all of which are thought to have suffered from ecstasy overdoses.
Police in Scotland have confirmed a 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the hospitalizations. He is due to appear in court for the alleged drug offenses.
The six 13-year-olds were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Ayrshire (in the southwest of Scotland) on Saturday night and were kept overnight for observations. It’s believed they all ingested MDMA pills, possibly supplied by the suspect.
Police issued a warning following the hospitalizations:
“One line of enquiry is that they had taken a type of MDMA tablet, believed to be red, green or brown in colour, bearing an owl logo.
“We want to remind the public that any drug can be dangerous and that you are putting your health at risk if you do take anything unknown to you.
“Anyone who feels unwell, or knows anyone who appears unwell after taking these substances should seek medical treatment as soon as possible.”
