Zedd was on a roll with tracks like “Stay” and “Get Low,” but he hit a bit of a slump with his latest release, “The Middle.” Complaints of it sounding too similar to “Stay” were all too common from fans and critics alike, despite the actual production on the record.
However, Zedd looks to bounce back as he reveals during an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 that he’s currently working on a record with the lead singer of rock band Muse, Matt Bellamy.
“I’ve started a new record with Matthew from Muse,” Zedd stated. “We started towards the end of last year — it’s a super exciting project for both of us because he’s never co-written a song with anybody and I don’t know if he’s actually done anything outside of Muse. He’s a complete legend to me and massive inspiration. I wouldn’t be making the same music if his band wasn’t around.”
He also mentions a lot of cinematic pieces of music he’s written, which could hopefully be used in a new project, something like a score for a film or TV show.
