Spag Heddy has long been one of the most creative producers rising through the dubstep ranks, and he’s proven time and again that you just really can’t predict what he’s going to put out. On his forthcoming Gospel EP out tomorrow, he puts forth four unique tracks that strive to push what dubstep currently means.
Your EDM has the pleasure of premiering track #3 from the EP, “Ballroom.” The first immediately noticeable element of the track is the almost 8-bit horror music melodically permeating the tune. It gives a backbone to the sort of comical setting punctuated by the ridiculously staccato lead synths and embellishments. As a dubstep track, it doesn’t have any solid, continuous bassline or pattern, opting instead for a more bouncy rhythm. That being said, it’s still an entirely too filthy track that is sure to wreak havoc on any dancefloor.
Gospel is out tomorrow via Never Say Die, but you can stream “Ballroom” below right now. Pre-save the EP on Spotify right now: click here.
