Burning Man 2017 saw one of the most devastating music festival tragedies we’ve ever heard of…
It’s been five months since Aaron Joel Mitchell ran into the blazing fire and ended his own life during one of Burning Man’s rituals. Still, more questions than answers remain. An update from the Reno Gazette Journal, a local publication, reports his friends and family still have no idea why.
Mitchell lived an adventurous life, and absolutely no one saw this coming… 
“Honestly, he was the closest thing to Jesus, in a new age way,” says close friend Justin Berry. The same friend who was with Mitchell the entire week leading up to his death.
Berry says Mitchell danced away the days at Burning Man, but cashed in before 10 pm each night. Friends figured he was weary from the heat. While Mitchell rested, Berry would take out his phone to capture selfies and special moments, and report back in the morning hours.
As far as Berry could tell, Mitchell stayed away from drug use and only drank a modest amount of craft beer during the event. On the night of the tragedy, Mitchell was separated from his usual group of friends and ventured off with others he knew from Switzerland.
“I wish we had all been together, I don’t know that this would have happened.”
Berry, as well as other friends and family members, are still trying to make sense of all of this…
“Maybe in some weird way he did this for us, to inspire us to make better decisions. I wish that he could have made better decisions, because he’s not coming back from this.”
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has ruled Mitchell’s death a suicide, but his cause of death remains “cardiac arrest, bodily shock and third-degree burns on 97 percent of his body.”

The burningman experience, not a festival. Festivals,concerts,state fairs,and plays. These events are similar, burningman is a life changing experience. Those who know about it. They know from there soul being part of it is life changing. Those that call it a festival either have never been, or just put it into a ,” festival” idea.
Buying the ticket, to arriving at the gate. Is a life changing feeling to all. After you go one time, then you will see the bueaty of burningman. If your not into the experience you can go, an then you’ll know for yourself.Burningman is an experience for those who enjoy a great life changing adventure like no other. This I promise to you.

It’s not a cult either but I can see where you’d think you’re right by your smarmy little comment.
So tired of idiots giving electronic music a bad name. Reminds me of the stupid bs that happened at Hard Day of the Dead and the Mad Decent Boat Party. I wish people would get the help they need and stop doing things like this. It’s just aggravating and sad.
