150 Drug-Related Music Festival Arrests Made Over The Weekend

Nearly 150 people were busted on drug-related offenses at two electronic music festivals over the weekend in Sydney, Australia — most of which had ecstasy on them.

The arrests took place between Electric Gardens Music Festival in Centennial Park and HTID dance party at Sydney Olympic Park.

Over 11,000 people were in attendance at Electric Gardens, headlined by Fatboy Slim, 132 of which were charged with possessing drugs and seven more were charged for supplying drugs. The three youngest offenders were a 20-year-old man with 50 capsules believed to be MDMA, 25-year-old man caught with 31 pills, and a 19-year-old man found with 65 tablets.

Meanwhile at HTID, 150 people were searched, 116 were in need of medical attention, and a total of three people were taking to the hospital due to drug-related causes. An 18-year-old woman was allegedly carrying 20 capsules believed to be MDMA, while a 19-year-old man was charged for carrying 65 tablets.

Australia recently put pill testing back on the agenda after a mass overdose in Melbourne.
