The new collaboration between Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer and Tory Lanez, “Miss You,” is officially out today. The track features an understated production and breathy vocals from Lanez throughout, giving off Major Lazer’s perfect representation of an airy summer tune (even though it’s the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere).
Make no mistake, this is definitely a Cashmere Cat with features from Major Lazer and Tory Lanez – it’s not nearly boisterous enough for a genuine Major Lazer collaboration, and Lanez’ vocals are more like a topping than the main course. That being said, the track is simple and catchy enough to get stuck in your head, so it will probably chart a little bit and then your guess is as good as mine. If any producers feel up to remixing it, “Miss You” definitely has some hidden potential.
