Prior to 2017, I had only ever attended two USC-organized events: Lucky 2016 and Bliss: The Awakening. While I thoroughly enjoyed both festivals, I also never truly got a taste of the full USC experience until this last year. In 2017 alone, I had the pleasure of attending Bass Academy, Lucky (once again), Paradiso, a slew of various artist-headlined shows, and – most recently – Resolution.
If there’s one major thing I’ve noticed with USC, it’s that their lineups seem to get crazier and crazier with every passing event, seemingly catering to my taste in dance music. While Paradiso 2017 was definitely hard to top, USC did everything in their power to keep the bar set high with Resolution 2018.
This festival was absolutely stacked, and I mean STACKED. Time Capsule (aka the main stage) alone housed Madeon, k?d, Nero, NGHTMRE and Alesso (among others), who all ended up being major highlights of the night. Enchanted Forest (the bass music stage) most definitely was not lacking either, with DJs like Feed Me, Ghastly, LAXX and Crizzly throwing down hour after hour. 
For the first time ever, USC also added the Clock Tower stage, which housed more underground-leaning house and trance DJs. The stage was added to make up for the fact that the NYE festival was actually not held on December 31st (thanks to the Seahawks hosting a game on that date), but the extra stage made Resolution all the more worth attending.
Tucked away in the back on one of CenturyLink Field’s hallways, the Clock Tower served as the grooviest hub of the three stages thanks to sets from Duke Dumont, Gorgon City and BlackGummy. The stage’s closing set from Ferry Corsten ended up being a pretty drastic change in pace from the rest of the acts on that particular stage, but ended up being pretty incredible nonetheless.
Corsten’s Blueprint-infused set was probably my favorite of the night, but there countless moments during other DJ sets that blew me away, too. I went absolutely bonkers during Madeon’s mashup of “Shelter” with “EON BREAK” and practically broke my neck when Ghastly played a metal remix of the big room classic “Tremor.” To say the least, Resolution 2018 was a night with some amazing memories that I won’t soon forget. My only resolution for this year is to make sure to go back to the festival again.
Even if it wasn’t a true NYE event this year, Resolution kicked 2018 off with a great start. Lucky 2018 is right around the corner, with Paradiso coming soon after. Tickets for the latter will be available soon here.
