Getting a platinum record is probably one of the hardest feats in music to accomplish. Now just try to imagine going 6x platinum on a record in one country. Grammy-nominated “Something Just Like This” by The Chainsmokers & Coldplay just hit that mark after previously achieving multiple-platinum certification statuses in two other countries.
This week the single achieved the ridiculous mark of 6x platinum certification in Australia after it crossed the 420,000 sale mark. Earlier in the year, the record peaked at #2 on the Australian charts.
Elsewhere in the world the song has achieved 7x platinum status in Sweden and 3x platinum in the United States.
(Note: Platinum Record status varies by country. ARIA only requires 70,000 sales for platinum, whereas RIAA requires 100,000.)
