Chester Bennington committed suicide on July 20, shocking his fans and prompting an even more curt and necessary discussion about mental health in the music industry. The singer has had a history of depression throughout his adult life and musical career.
Now, four and a half months later, the autopsy and toxicology reports have been submitted, and Bennington was found to have trace amounts of alcohol in his blood at the time of death. There was a pint glass of Corona, which was less than half full, in his room and an empty bottle of Stella Artois, according to TMZ.
Bennington’s wife told investigators the he “would have suicidal ideations after consuming alcohol”; she had to call police in 2006 to find him after he consumed a large amount of alcohol and walked out of their home with a loaded weapon. 
The report also showed a “presumptive positive” reading for MDMA, but two subsequent tests came back negative. The ultimate conclusion was the singer was not under the influence of drugs when he died.
